I worked as the graphic designer for DoSomething, a nonprofit dedicated to championing young people to do good in the world.
As the sole graphic designer at DoSomething.org, I led the visual execution of marketing campaigns that engaged young people to take action on the social causes they care most about. From social impact initiatives to brand partnerships with 3M, Timberland, and The Allstate Foundation, I created compelling designs for web, print, and merchandise that drove engagement and participation.
In addition to campaign work, I played a key role in the organization’s 2024 brand refresh in collaboration with IDEO.org, developed interim brand guidelines, co-led usability testing, and spearheaded the creative direction for DoSomething’s 30-year anniversary Gala. This case study dives into my approach to designing impactful campaigns that inspired the next generation of changemakers.
PROGRAM:
SHOW UP FOR WHAT
Encouraging young people to register to vote

THE GOAL
Engage the 41 million newly eligible Gen Z voters to use their voice and cast their ballot in the 2024 election
During the 2024 election, I led the visual direction for a multi-pronged, national voter registration campaign. I created all visual touchpoints including: merchandise, print work, and digital campaign assets for email and social media.
THE SOLUTION
A bold, modern design system that made voting feel exciting and accessible

PROJECTS:
THE FUTURES BALL
The nonprofit's 30 year anniversary Gala
THE CHALLENGE
The nonprofit’s 30th anniversary was a milestone moment, requiring an event brand that felt elevated, celebratory, and forward-thinking. The goal was to create a cohesive visual identity for the Futures Ball that aligned with the organization’s mission while appealing to a diverse audience of donors, honorees, and changemakers.

Futures Ball Moodboard
Step into the future.
The Futures Ball will celebrate a generation of youth-led impact and usher in a new class of young changemakers through a mix of immersive experiences, storytelling, and live performances.
Come build a shared vision for how young people will continue to create a more just, equitable future.
THE SOLUTION
A vibrant, colorful, intentionally eclectic maximalist approach
Inspired by how the retro-futurism aesthetic approaches maximalism, the Futures Ball uses a variety of patterns and colors to contrast a typical black-tie event and place emphasis on youthfulness and festivity.

Printed Invitation Suite
I led the visual direction for the event, ensuring that all design elements—from invitations to digital assets—reflected a futuristic yet refined aesthetic. Working within the nonprofit’s brand guidelines while pushing for a sleek, modern look, I developed a design system that included:
- A premium printed invitation suite, featuring a metallic envelope and folded layout for an elegant first impression
- Honoree materials, with bold, gradient-infused portrait designs to highlight key figures
- Sponsorship assets, ensuring seamless branding across all event collateral
I provided art direction to our design contractors on how to implement the Futures Ball branding, including but not limited to layout, typography, color palette and print choices.

PROGRAM:
UNCENSORED
Expanding cultural awareness through banned books by LGBTQIA+ authors

ABOVE
I created the visual branding for Uncensored, a campaign centered around expanding cultural awareness and encouraging young people to read banned books. The program scope included graphics for social media, email, and editorials.

In partnership with 3M, I designed the visual branding for Science Go Seek, a multi-pronged campaign designed for STEM resources in public schools. Inspired by the popular and nostalgic book series Eye Spy, the style encourages young people to look closer and learn more about the science behind their every day lives.
Above are visual excerpts from the campaign, which included scope across email, social media, and OOH advertising.
